On-the-Air in Tacoma
By Barry Elad
November 10, 2000

It's been going on for more than a year now. Every Saturday from 11:00am to Noon, the WebGuys and WebGrrl Dana robonair.jpg (4644 bytes)have been hitting the netwaves and airwaves to talk about the Net.

seattle.internet.com dropped by the radio studio recently, to get an on-the-air view of the show.

Seeing the talented radio team at work up close, it is clear that they are interested in both educating the public about the Net and having some fun at the same time.

So who are the WebGuys and the WebGrrl? Rob Greenlee is the director of marketing for Tacoma-based ShopperBox.com and Mitch Ratcliffe is VP of content programming & editor-in-cheif of On24.com. WebGrrl Dana is no other than Dana Greenlee, president of Tacoma-based LoudVox.com

And how do these busy industry executives incorporate a radio show into their weekly routine? For Ratcliffe, it is all about the information runway. He flies back to Seattle every weekend from his current job location of Silicon Valley. For the Greenlee husband and wife team, it's an opportunity to always be up-to-date. "Getting ready for the show...gives me a great excuse to take the timeout necessary to always be aware of the latest industry trends," says WebGrrl Dana.

Their show webtalkguys is broadcasted througout the Puget Sound on 1180 AM KLAY. It also reaches listeners as far as Australia through the show's streaming audio version.

Tomorrow the radio team will be talking with InfoSpace's Tasha Irvine about search engines and PayByCheck.com CEO Ron Ehli about...you guessed it: Paying Online.

Looking ahead, Rob Greenlee hopes to syndicate the show to more stations throughout the U.S. and form key alliances with streaming
